Love Is Never Lost
“Tequila” is a courtship love song by Dan + Shay portraying lovers that separated, but reunited. Perfect by Ed Sheeren is also a courtship love song that talks of two people who had a childhood fling, and realized they were meant to be much later. These two songs are both courtship love songs about couples and their love for eachother, but they do differ from each other if you read a little more into the lyrics. They use figurative very differently in each aspect of the two songs to better explain their love, or situation. Both of the songs I chose because they both have good rhythm, use of figurative language, and emotion.
“Tequila” is a country heartbreaker song about how tequila reminds them of a long lost love. They really met the standards of a great love song with their excellent use of imagery to show memories of the lost love, that are brought to by the taste of their special liquor. He repeats how the taste of tequila reminds him of his lost love, and all other liquors are fine, but he continues to order tequila showing that he misses her and can not get over the memories they had together. …show more content…

This song is about his fiance whom he knew from school many years ago, and found their love again when they were both working in New York when they were older. Ed Sheeran had nice use of figurative language through his lyrics, portraying that they should dive into their relationship. He continues to use metaphors like this and a lot of imagery details to put us in the scene with them dancing. You can feel how much he means the word, “I don’t deserve this” referring to his fiance. He put so much effort and emotion into this song, so this is why I would categorize this song as a great love
