The first ever game was on November 1, 1947, it was the New York Knickerbockers Vs. the Toronto Huskies1. The first ever MVP was awarded to Bob Pettit in the 1955-56 season, he averaged 25.7 PPG(Points Per Game) and 16.2 RPG(Rebounds Per Game). The team who won the first championship was the Boston Celtics who won in 1957. The Boston Celtics would go on to win 11 more championships in 13 years. The best player on that Celtics team was Bill Russell who carrer averaged 15.1 PPG and 22.5 RPG. Bill Russell currently has the most NBA championships in NBA history2.The NBA has some of the most impressive records in sports.
