The literary world is enamored with the paranormal. Audiences and readers are everyday more interested in the magical, the inexplicable. Consequently, there's a field of science that presumes to understand and study all this phenomena occurring within the physical plane. From the times of William James (1842-1910), Parapsychology (Psi) has been considered a Pseudoscience, which means that all along researchers of Psi have not been able to provide sufficient evidence to confirm Psi as a true science. Even after all this, people have not lost interest, and this interest is so rich that most organizations of Psi research belong to private owners and prevail with the help of donations from people all over the world. But what is Parapsychology, really? And why is it so embraced by writers and readers from every culture?
