Nikola’s first job was repairing direct current at a power plant in paris, 2 years went by and he decided to move to the United States. He arrived in New york 1884. Nikola got a job working for Thomas Edison in his Manhattan Headquarters. Although Edison was impressed with Tesla, Edison did not pursue Tesla’s ideas or inventions, instead having Tesla make improvements on Edison’s DC dynamos. Tesla made many improvements but failed to get paid from Edison, so he quit soon after. Things didn’t go to great for Tesla the next few years. He tried and failed to open his own electric company. He went into a slum and digged ditches for 2$ a day but Tesla got right back on his feet in no time. Tesla found some backers to support his research for alternating …show more content…
The tesla coil is made up of aircord and resident transformers. A transformer means that there are two circuits, a primary and a secondary. Aircord means that there is no actual electrical connection between the two circuits; energy is transferred between the two coils via EM waves. The tesla coil was used for a lot of other inventions as a primary component. The coil advanced technology rapidly, if it wasn’t for the tesla coil we wouldn’t have ac power. His past invention was the induction motor which helped him build the tesla coil. He went on to make the radio, xray, and remote control but there was always someone standing in Tesla’s way stopping Tesla from making Tesla’s ideas a reality.Hadley 3 Edison was always competing with Tesla for the top. Edison didn’t want tesla to be successful because that would ruin Edisons reputation as an inventor. Edison knew that Tesla had the means to destroy his DC power generation and targeted him for that. After a few years of this rivalry Tesla invented the induction motor which wiped DC power out of existence and now its only used for batteries. When Tesla invented the induction motor people said it was
