Our world is forever changing and alongside it are the people. We’re a generation that doesn’t need to just do the work, but to have the ability to question things and solve problems. This problem solver mindset is shown in many inventors from many points in time. This inquiry aims to show how these characteristics made the world what it is and what we need to acquire. Everyone chose an inventor to work on for this inquiry and, after a week of research and note taking, presented what they thought were the five best characteristics that made this inventor successful. After gathering the data from these presentations, we did a numerical analysis to determine the five most reference characteristics including synonyms and from that I got the …show more content…
Throughout his years of work he pioneered many things that used previous concepts to create something even better than before. In his time at Tesla Electric Light Company Thomas Edison was winning over the world (or at least America) with his DC light bulbs using his own current system. Tesla recognised that by using DC current, you’d have to have a power station every 1.6 kilometers which was inefficient. Using Tesla’s AC system, power could be transmitted virtually anywhere without requiring a station to boost it. Using his AC system, he invented a light bulb managed to get around Edison’s patents while still having a connection thought could be implemented universally. Even though his connection didn’t win over the market, the AC system overruled DC and is used in light bulbs today. Tesla was innovative with his inventions, but he was always determined to finish them. Successful inventors are always determined to reach their goal. Tesla was determined to combine work with his passion - electricity - and to create things that had never been done before. This started when he moved to America and founded the Tesla Electric Light Company. After the company had come to the end of its life, he was forced to do manual labour to survive. This didn’t cull the creative mind of Tesla as after receiving funding from George Westinghouse he founded Tesla Electric Company. Through this he demonstrated his hard work through light bulbs & AC …show more content…
Tesla made a many creations including the AC light bulb which is used in many houses today. He used a resource not many use today, our own knowledge, to come up with a bulb system that worked around Edison’s patents as previously mentioned. He used the knowledge of how Edison’s DC light bulb worked to engineer one which worked effectively and in unison with his AC system. Alongside that, Tesla had a laboratory which was always had things missing as his project we’re done in a linear fashion, but all at the same time. As a result, some of the components he wanted to use wouldn’t be available so he had to rethink his plans to compensate for these missing items. This is what made Tesla a great
