With fifteen departments (“Facts and Figures” [Department of Engineering]), Texas A&M’s College of Engineering is one of the most renowned in the country, ranking seventh in the U.S. News & World Report's "Best Colleges 2024" (qtd. in the “Rankings” section). Audience and Purpose The audience of the Chemical Engineering website is potential students, ranging from transfers, freshman, or even graduate students seeking to advance their knowledge. When these students access the engineering website, they are likely overwhelmed with decision making and anxious to start–or continue–college. They are looking for simple information that will influence their decision when choosing a university.
