Texting and driving has become a serious issue, this puts many driver’s lives in danger daily. People feel as if staying connected to the world outside of them is way more important than focusing on the road. 95% of people say texting and driving is a serious risk for their safety, but only 35% admit to texting and driving. If drivers put their phones down and started to pay attention as to where they are going much fewer car accidents would occur. According to a study “text messaging creates a crash risk 23 times worse than driving while not distracted.” Talking on the phone is easier to keep yourself focused while driving, but it is still very dangerous. When a person is texting on the phone it is impossible for them to be looking at the road and the phone at the same time, so in these cases the phone will receive more attention than the road would be.
