When forming my art piece, I analyzed my thoughts about who I am as an individual. I then looked through the photographs that I have captured to further reflect on the memories that I am so privileged to have lived. When starting the art making process, I began to analyze what represents me. I then thought of the photos that I have taken and the connection I have to them. The images that I capture have a great importance to me as they greatly reflect my identity. Fully living life and cherishing each moment , including both the good and the bad, are key aspects that deliberate my values. I searched through all the photos that I am either in or have personally captured and formed some of them into collage that mimics a polaroid. A polaroid is an image or photograph that is instantly printed and cannot be manipulated or retouched. I made sure that I included the visual aspect of a polaroid as polaroids reflect the rawness of the experiences that you encounter throughout your course of life. The instant photographs share my beliefs about fully enjoying life. We are so fortunate for the lives given to us, the people placed in them, and the adventures we seek each day. There is a well known saying that I believe is so true; “a picture is worth a thousand words.” The moments we encounter are priceless, therefore, I cherish the photos I take because the moments lived can never be lived again, both the happy and the sad. I use my polaroids as a reminder, that no matter how chaotic, tough, or tiring life can be, there is so much more beauty. In fact, the chaoticness, the toughness, and the tiredness is what makes life so much more beautiful. Life is no fairytale, but overcoming the hard times and persevering is what makes it worth it so much more. Moments become memories, so I do my best to capture them to cherish
