What does the textual evidence in lines 16-20 tell you about how the speaker in Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken,” imagines his future? Explain using details from the text. Answer: He imagine his future to be rather exciting or something that would change his perspective but in line 16 the speaker actually was bored and unsatisfied with the choice he made. The reason why I think the speaker though his future as a least fun or exciting when he though about his path before he change it is because he wanted to find out why the path was less taken and it could be better than the first path but so far when he went it was more the same because in stanza 3 it explain how," And both that morning equally lay/ In leaves no step had trodden black," …show more content…

What message does Frost want the reader to understand about this journey? What can you infer about the speaker’s thoughts and feelings about life’s journey in this poem? Explain using details from the text. Answer: The message that Frost want us, the reader to understand so far is that there is going to be a choice that depend on the future you take and the consequences which even thought the two choices that we might confront later in our life may not contain that much information to learn or opinion. You won't be able to decide easily so you have to think carefully and the possible outcome it may happen in the near future. After taking the choice we make, no matter the consequence we have to owned it since you cant just go back and change it. You have to accept that choice and deal with the consequences which might result either bad or good. The reason why I got this main idea was because of the speaker though and feeling since the speaker is taking a life's journey that depend on his ideal thinking. In stanza 2 and 1, the speaker thought more concern of the choice he will occasionally will make so far and after analyzing the detail, he soon made a choice but he'll doesn't know if it will change his future or the consequences. He went that path to accept whatever is happening and after making that choice he felt a sigh and made all the difference which meant he didn't liked the path he went to and how …show more content…

Answer: The definition of the word trodden is to travel back or to go backward because In stanza 3 of line 12, the speaker mention how the road where equally and how he went to the second path and trodden back. In that sentence we can easily define that trodden meant to go back or backward because of how he said he leaves no step had trodden which the word step and leaves easily give us the hint that trodden has to do something about walking. As we continue rereading the word by word and understanding what it meant, we'll soon understand that that sentence has caused the speaker to take the second path and return which using the word trodden we can easily figure out the sentence and changing the sentence a bit by bit, we can adding traveling back or backward since that the only thing that makes sense. Another way I found what it meant was the hint the poem gave us that he speaker went to the second path and return to the first path because of stanza 3 and fourth making the word trodden to easily be told as walking backward or traveling back the way you came. That is how I was able to figure out what it meant and how I got my
