The conflict between two sides of abortion has been a long occurring debate ever since 1960s due to Roe v. Wade (1973). Jane Roe, a single pregnant woman, disputed against Texas criminal abortion laws in the U.S. Supreme Court. In a 7-2 ruling in favor of Roe, “stated that abortion bans were unconstitutional in every state, legalizing abortion throughout the United States (Head).” It has been 4 decades since the ruling and many people still do not agree on this decision and is why the debate continues. “An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. By 1975, over 1,000,000 babies were being aborted in the United States. Today, about 1,500,000 abortions occur each year. That's over 4000 per day, and nearly three per minute! People argue that it should only be the women’s choice if she wants the baby or not. A common point made is “What if the women was raped and got pregnant?” She will be so hurt and she would not be able to raise the child as she should. She will have the hate towards the baby’s father. Every time she will look at that baby she will remember what happened to her. That is one of the strongest arguments Pro-Choice has; however, the story of Anna Grace takes this argument to a different perspective. Anna Grace grew up in a very conservative and Christian family. Her parents planned her whole life out for her before she was even born. Ever since she was little, her parents always reminded her of the expectation they had for her. She was a straight “A” student and planned on going to medical school to pursue her career. Throughout her teenager years she was not like all teenagers.
