Other than having more soldiers and more guns, the Union had a different approach to fighting this war. They had strategy’s like gaining higher ground such as hills like Cemetery Hill, Cemetery Ridge, Culp’s Hill, Little Round Top, and Big Round Top. This gives the Union yet another advantage over the Confederates. It not only allows them to cover more land, but also gives more protection against an attack. The Confederates soon lose most if not all information on where the Union is going or what their next moves are going to be, which is a huge disadvantage for them.
