The American Dream Martin Luther King Jr. once said in “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” We are caught in an inescapable network of maturity, tied in a simple garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. All throughout history, racism and injustice has had the biggest influence over The American Dream. The American Dream is a way of living life by what you achieved by working hard for what you want and becoming successful. Racism and injustice is a big issue for the American Dream because it separates us as a whole, berates our ethnicity, and African Americans get treated unfairly. Us being separated as a whole has such a big impact on The American Dream.
