Freedom, equality, happiness, family, mobility, opportunity, education, diversity. This is the American Dream. The American Dream represents the lifelong goal that one works towards and dreams about throughout his/her whole life. Some believe that this American Dream, appealing though it seems, is not accessible to everyone. However, this is not true. The American Dream is accessible to everyone. Many reasons support this conclusion, some of which include the facts that one can always make the right choices, there are always jobs available, and anything is possible if one is determined.

Everyone has the ability to be determined to achieve success, therefore anybody has access to the American Dream. Determination is possibly the most important part of achieving the American Dream, for two main reasons. First of all, without determination, people try half-heartedly, and second of all, the more determined someone is, the more likely they are to get a job and make the right choices, helping to possibly lead them to the American Dream (Boyanova). Rick Newman once voiced, “it's premature, if not silly, to claim that Americans have lost the ability to improve their fortunes, move up in the world, or purchase a comfortable home, [throughout the means of] subsidiary rights such as fairness, opportunity, and self-determination”(Newman). This evidence shows that determination is an important part in having access to the American Dream, because one needs determination to complete a task or a challenge in life to reach comfort. Anyone who has risen beyond the expectations of society and achieved the American Dream had to have been determined. For example, Chuck Norris, an American martial artist, actor, film producer and screenwriter, once stated, “I've always found that anything worth achieving will always have obstacles in the way and you've got to have that drive and determination to overcome those obstacles”(Norris). This shows that with determination, one can reach his or her dream in life, even through a copious amount of obstacles.
