The Archetype Of Love And Evil In Disney Movies

182 Words1 Pages
An archetype is a recurring idea that seems to appear in many different forms of literature. Every fairy tale ever has the same recognizable archetype of love vs. hate or good vs. evil. This has to be one of the most known and prominent themes of literature. Most forms of literature apply this concept, sometimes in different ways. For instance, in all of the Disney fairy tales, we have the same story line where the prince must save the princess, or overcome the wicked queen. In my personal favorite Disney movie, Aladdin, we have a street rat who falls in love with the princess. However, he cannot marry her because he himself is not a prince. When Aladdin comes across a magic lamp containing a genie, he wishes to turn himself into a prince.
