It was March 5th, 1770, and the streets of Boston were alive with noise. Protestants lined streets, determined to repeal the unfair taxes. It was going along normally, until a British soldier fired into the crowd. The colonists were mad and tried to attack the soldiers, but in defence the redcoats fired into the crowd, killing 6. These soldiers were let go, just because they served the king. This unfair rule had to come to an end. At this time in history the colonies were mad and frustrated with the unfair tax laws put onto them by the British, such as the Stamp Act. The colonists stated all of the wrongs that Britain had done to them into a single document and showed it for the world to see, proving that they deserve to be independant. One of the reasons the colonists used to justify their separation from Britain was the unfairness of taxation in the form of the Tea Act. This act placed a tax on tea, and limited tea utilization so the only tea that could be bought and shipped to the colonies was from the East Empire company. This act also placed a tax on things such as glass, lead, paint, tar, and spices. In Britain, the King was enforcing his religion onto the people. Many of those people moved to the colonies so they could practice a different religion.
