In the book, Auschwitz: A Doctor’s Eyewitness Account, by Dr. Miklos Nyiszli he tells us his story of his time in Auschwitz. In May of 1944 the author, a Hungarian Jewish physician, was deported with his wife and daughter by cattle car to the Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz. Dr. Nyiszli is a Jewish survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp which is located in Poland. Dr. Nyiszli eventually got separated from his wife and daughter, and volunteered to work under the supervision of Josef Mengele, the head doctor in the concentration camp. It was under his supervision that Dr. Nyiszli witnessed many innocent people die.
Auschwitz: True Tales from a Grotesque Land is a memoir of Sara Nomberg- Przytyk, who spent a count of years in Auschwitz, at a concentration camp. She witnessed many unforgettable, yet gruesome things at the concentration camp; she describes all the horrible events and still seeks hope throughout the book. Nomberg- Prztyk is an unusual prisoner, and one of the special worker who worked at the hospital. Therefore, she got better treatment than other prisoners; she was even exempted from going to the gas chamber and always had enough to eat. She uses the special treatment to talk to people she comes across, and share their story.

In the book Auschwitz: A Doctor's Eyewitness Account, Dr. Miklos Nyiszli is survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp located in Poland during World War II. He lived to revealed one of the most horrific moments of his life. Dr. Nyizsli was a Jewish doctor transported away from his home with this wife and daughter. Unfortunately, when he arrived to the camp he was forced to separate from his wife and daughter. After being clueless about his family’s faith, he immediately claims that he was a doctor and volunteered to work under the supervision of Dr. Mengele hoping he would avoid working in terrible conditions.

At first, the Nazis reserved their harshest persecution for political opponents such as Communists or Social Democrats, but then they spread their hatred towards all types of “unfit” groups that threatened the German race. The Jews in concentration camps during the Holocaust would witness numerous horrific events that would scar them and many would lose their families before they had the chance to be liberated. Buna, which was a labor camp that was part of Auschwitz, was liberated by the Red Army on January 27th, 1945. The Red Army was able to free whoever was left in these camps and would discover the horrific conditions, most of the inhabitants including Elie Wiesel, had been forced to endure. The largest subcamp of Auschwitz, known as Buna, had been built by I.G. Farben in October of 1942.
Throughout our history we have had many tragic events and some of these events caused a very large amount of people to die or be mistreated. There were lots of people letting these acts be permitted because of their ignorance and pure hatred. The act of genocide and the extermination of groups of people happened because people were not speaking up against intolerance, hatred and propaganda. During the holocaust 6.3 million Jews died because of Greed,Hate,Silent Majority,and Propaganda, leading to genocide.
The very first concentration camp was set up in Dachau, Germany in 1933. Concentration camps kept opening up and being used all the way through to the end of World War II in 1945. As so many camps opened their had to be someone to build them for the prisoners of war, and believe it or not it was the prisoners themselves who had to build their own soon to be torture and sleeping chambers. In the Holocaust up to 6 million Jewish citizens died in either concentration camps or on the street. In the concentration camps people were either killed by being shot, gassed with poisonous gasses, tortured, or by catching a deathly disease or virus but prier to this they had to live in poor, poor living conditions.
Chapter One When I finally wake the first thought that comes to mind is “What on Earth is that god awful smell?” Did someone forget to take the trash out? For a week? That’s when I blink my eyes and find myself on what looks like a dirty nasty cattle car. I am completely surrounded by people.
The purpose of the video is to explain why 30 is not the new 20, even though it may seem like it. People start work, get married, and have kids later then they used to. That is what has brought up the topic and Meg Jay wanted to explain why 30 is not the new 20. I agree with Jay's point of view on how the 20's is a time to develop. I don't think that the 20's have to be a waste of time because you can be working on yourself during that time.
Other Victims of the Holocaust When many people think of the Holocaust, they think of the six million Jewish victims and how they were the target of the Nazis. What people don 't realize is that there were many more victims, such as the Gypsies, Soviet POWs, and people with disabilities and mental handicaps. Knowing about these other groups will enhance your understanding of the horrors of the Holocaust. Out of all the groups the Nazis targeted, only the Gypsies and Jews were supposed to be entirely exterminated. The Gypsies were natural scapegoats since they were outsiders, originally from Turkey.
The Holocaust was a horrific tragedy which started in January of 1933 and ended in May of 1945, the Holocaust was the mass murder of millions of people. The word was derived from the Greek word that meant Sacrifice to the Gods (Steele 7), also called the Shoan which is the Hebrew word for catastrophe (Steele 7). So many countries took place in this 12-year genocide, including, “Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria, which were also known as the Axis Powers” (Steele 34). But, although there were all those countries they were all part of one larger group called the Nazis, were the ones who were killing all the different denominations of people. (Bachrach 58).
