Travis is a very interesting character; he shows many admirable emotions in face of huge odds even though he did not survive the Battle of the Alamo. Travis is very important to the history shown in the Alamo, because he filled the troops with determination and he asked for aid from the Texans and the citizens of the United States, which empowered the Texans to help the battle, even though they came too late.
