Do you know any tricksters? In fact, I know several trickster tales, and I read some recently called "The Bear Who Stole the Chinook" and "Coyote and the Pebbles." A trickster is someone who betrays and disrupts others. For example, Bear steals the Chinook, and Coyote messes up people's portraits by tripping over pebbles. Also, Bear is the better trickster because he's more aggressive and selfish than Coyote. Bear is more aggressive than Coyote, which makes him the better trickster. Having a better advantage of being more unapproachable; however, his looks aren't deceiving as Coyote's which makes him a better trickster as well as being a bigger animal. Whereas, Coyote is small and he has human- like transformation. Bear shouts at others, and he hits them as well. Bear punched Owl’s eye with a stick rather than telling him to leave. While shouting at Weasel and Owl tremendously to their face; “I’m the Bear who stole the Chinook!” Bear yelled at the sky. While others watched Bears reaction, it made them not want to go close to him but they needed what was theirs. …show more content…

Bear intentionally steals the Chinook from the people, whereas Coyote unintentionally messes up their portraits by desperately wanting to draw his. Bear roars “Go Away!” and he does not care that the Chinook is the only thing that’s going to keep them warm at night. Coyote shouts “Oh No… No, No, No!” while tripping over the pebbles and bumping into other people’s drawings. Bear doesn’t care what others think of him; although Coyote does care and he’s emotionally upset. Coyote is ashamed of what happened and he left before the night creatures came. While Bear doesn’t care that he stole the Chinook; he sleeps peacefully and warm at night. While they steal the Chinook he selfishly grumbles and looks back at them and yells “I’m the Bear Who Stole the Chinook, I’m The Bear Who Stole
