Research paper: The Beatles

The Beatles were a very popular rock band that was formed in Liverpool in 1960. The four main group members were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They are one of the most influential rock bands of all time and are a big part in the development of the 1960s counterculture and music would not be the same if they never existed.

Where they grew up and what their life was like. One of the group members was john Lennon and he was born October 9th, 1940, in Liverpool England and died by a gunshot on December 8th, 1980, in New York city. As a teen John Lennon became involved in skiffle which was a genre of folk music that took inspiration from American folk music, blues, country, bluegrass, and jazz. This led to the inspiration for the music that the blues made. He formed the group called the quarrymen in 1956 which later turned into the Beatles in 1960. He participated in many films like How I won the war, and in his own writing his songs were adopted as anthems by the anti-war movement, and he was big on anti-war even performing in a two weeklong bed in to protest the war. He was a bass gutair player and shared primary songwriting and lead vocal duties with John Lennon. When he was younger, he taught himself to play piano, guitar and songwriting. His career began when he joined John Lennon's group the quarrymen, in 1957. He started incorporating experimental aesthetics into the Beatles' studio productions Starting with the 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, he gradually became the band's de facto leader, providing the creative impetus for most of their music and film. A fun fact about Paul Macartney is he was made an honorary detective by the NYPD after giving a charity concert for
