In the article “The Black Panther Party: A Food Justice Story,” by Garett Broad spoke about how the Black Panthers were not known at all for being food activists. The Black Panthers were an organization that fought for civil rights movements, social movements, and the food movement as well. In the 1960’s the Black Panthers sought to fill in the gap of hunger and how the government neglected the needs of minorities. So, they worked to feed children with a program called “Free Breakfast for Children programs,” which feed twenty thousand school children in two years.
