While watching the movie The Blind Side I felt so many different emotions. I would have never thought that I would be so inspired by this movie by looking at the cover of the DVD. It looks like any other typical football, athletic movie, with a huge football player on it, and usually someone right next to them. In this case it is Michael Oher and Sandra Bullock on the cover. He is wearing a football uniform and she is dressed up. This movie was truly inspiring and I believe that some people would not view this movie because they either don’t enjoy sports and that’s all they see on the cover, or they don’t want to watch another movie about a kid that is good at sports that comes from a bad background like the typical movies that are shown these …show more content…

He grew up in the projects in Memphis and had to get away from his drug abusing mother. He never has a steady place to stay and was in and out of foster care. After a coach at Wingate Christian School saw Michael’s size and saw the way he moved he was accepted into the private school. No teacher would help him with his work and he was not doing well in school because of his lack of experience (Huggo). Knowing that he was homeless Leigh Anne Tuohy, mother of two students that went to the same school as Michael invited him to stay in their home for the night. Little did they know that the one night that Leigh Anne and her family asked him to stay would turn into a bond that would never be broken. They took him in like their own child. He eventually got his own room, new clothes, a vehicle and a tutor to help him with his studies so he can do what he truly wanted to do which was play football. When he did get passing grades he got to start playing. He was the star of every game and was so humble about it all. Many universities want Michael to play on their team. He goes and visits schools with the family. He decides to go to Ole Miss where Sean and Leigh Anne went to school. At the end of the film it says that he then became a first round pick in the NFL and will be a successful professional football player.
As the movie is playing some might think is she only doing this to make herself look good? Does she really want a person she doesn’t even know to come live in her home? Is she just doing this so that he can eventually go to Ole Miss where both Leigh Anne and Sean went to school? This was easy for me to believe that the family was doing it in the good because it is a true story and she wouldn’t just do that if she didn’t really want to help
