THE BOOK THIEF - LOGBOOK

I’ve chosen to read a book called “The Book Thief”. The reason why I chose to read this book is because it’s historical. The book description made me get attached to the book. What I found out by reading the book description, is that the book is about the holocaust. I thought that I would be well educated about the holocaust after reading the book, which is good for my history grade.

The book thief is a historical fiction novel. It’s also considered as a drama book. The book’s narrator, death, provides a unique perspective on the events of the time, and the story itself is both heart-wrenching and uplifting.

She’s a little child whose mother is forced to give her up and who is transferred to live with a foster family in Germany. Her foster parents Hans and Rosa Hubermann are now part of Liesel’s new family. Liesel soon acclimates to her new life despite the challenging conditions, and she starts to develop close relationships with her family and friends.

The story of the book thief takes place in Nazi Germany during the second world war. The story is set in the fictional town of Molching, which is located near Munich in southern Germany. Molching is defined as a little working-class neighborhood with narrow alleys, and rows of gray identical houses. The town is surrounded by woods and farms. This novel is set in a period of intense political upheaval and social unrest. With Nazi propaganda and the constant threat of air raids and bombings.

It could possibly be that the author decided to have the novel take place in Nazi Germany during World War 2 in order to explore themes of oppression, resistance, and the power of words in a historical context. They seem to get along and like each other. Rudy is a loyal friend to Liesel, and he sticks up for her. I love how he’s very supportive and overly nice. One more thing that I really like about the book is the fancy old language that they use to communicate with each other.

Death is a word that has been used multiple times in this book. So, it could be possible that someone who has a big role in this book is going to die. The reason why I believe that someone is going to die is because the least thing that you expect will happen. It could possibly be Liesel who is going to die because she’s the main character.

The ending made my jaw drop. Everything happened too fast, and I did not expect the ending to be this sad and heartbreaking. I did not realize that the people you care about the most can die anytime, even when you least expect it. I am still trying to process the death of the characters in the book. It sounds unbelievable, and I don’t want to accept that they are gone forever. The ending was probably the most emotional part of this book.

I would recommend this book to people who like sad stories with plot twists. If you enjoy historical fiction, coming-of-age stories, or books that explore complex themes, then “The Book Thief” is the perfect book for you. You’ll never regret reading this fantastic
