In the memoir, Night, by Eli Wiesel, he recounts the horrors that occurred during the Holocaust. The Holocaust camps started around 1933 and 1945. In this time the jews were put in very traumatic times. They would make kids under 18 and under and all the women go into a different group from the men. The woman and kids would go into this building and be killed.
The Holocaust was a horrible event in history that will scar humanity forever. With the events of the Holocaust being experienced by millions there are many different perspectives of said events. One such perspective is presented in Night, a memoir written by Elie Wiesel about his experiences as a young Jewish boy during the Holocaust. Another perspective is presented in Schindler’s List, a film directed by Steven Spielberg (based on the novel Schindler’s Ark by Thomas Keneally) about Oskar Schindler, a gentile who saves over one thousand Jewish lives during the Holocaust. Both pieces show heart wrenching stories of the abuse of a group of people in different ways, each using different mediums to convey their points.
In the book Night I believe that family is the highest priority to Elie. His father is very important to him and a great motivator to stay alive and keep trying. The book Night is set in a small town in WW2 the main characters are Elie and his father. They are both jews and are soon taken to a concentration camp and the book is about them surviving the camps they go to. Elie’s father is a big motivator for Elie, but in the end of the book Elie’s father dies.
The Holocaust was a devastating event that had outreaching effects on many groups of people and many countries. Although most of this devastation happened to the Jewish Race. There are many books, movies, memoirs, and academic journals regarding the Holocaust, portraying how it affected different people and their stories. One memoir that will be discussed is Night written by Elie Wiesel about his life during the Holocaust. Also a movie by the name of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas will be discussed.
For example, The Boy in Striped Pajamas describes loss and heartbreak very well, but it is fictional. It really only talks about the little boy’s life and that was lost in the end. Although it does include facts about the Holocaust, it is still heavily dramatized to leave a grievous effect on its audience. Night is a true biography of a boy's life in Auschwitz. It presents the emotions and struggles the Jews went through each day.
During the 1200 Jews would do a sacrificial ritual by fire for god, they would call this holokauston. Later historians took this word and joined it with the mass genocide of the Jews during the 1940’s. John Boyne’s Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a historical Fiction Book set in the 1940’s or World War II. The overall book The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was marvelous because it provides a clear theme, and the author uses great rhetoric to persuade the audience how awful the Holocaust was.
John Boyne is the author of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, his most notable book, The Thief of Time, The Boy at the Top of the Mountain, and many others. He was born in Dublin, Ireland, and is 45 years old. The author’s use of tone and imagery in The Boy and the Striped Pajamas is very descriptive. Boyne used vivid expressions to describe how the characters talk to each other and how they think. He often uses the innocent tone of a nine year old boy to contrast against the horrors of Nazi Germany.
The Holocaust can be called one of the darkest sides and the biggest tragedies of the human civilization. There are many different stories and experiences that recap what happened in the camps. Each one is unique from the next, but also shares similarities with in each other. There are two stories that interest many people and have similarities and differences. In the novel Night and in the movie "Life is Beautiful", the Holocaust was experienced both similarly and differently through the mood of sadness, father/ son relationship, and self-preservation.

Modern Society Final All around the world people are defining themselves as modern, or living in modern day, or even living in a modern society. But the truth is, people as of today don 't know what a modern society even is. Our world thinks that no matter what, they are living in a modern society, and to some extent that is true, but what they don 't realize is how much they impact our society today. In the 1920’s, society was blooming, increasing in population, excitement, and even technology.
The books A Child Called "It" and its sequel The Lost Boy are based off a real story about the childhood of the author, David Pelzer. In the beginning of the book David had a wonderful family. Both Catherine and Stephen respected David and his brothers, treated them as equals when they were young, loved them very much, and did anything to make them happy.

The Holocaust was a genocide in Germany of all European Jews and ‘undesirables’, led by Adolf Hitler; he managed to kill 6 million jews using concentration camps and systematic killing. In the concentration camps, the Jews were forced to do labour work in factories to manufacture goods for the war; conditions were terrible, as Jewish individuals were not treated well physically and psychologically. Previous knowledge and impressions of mine, regarding the Holocaust, came from classroom discussions, reading textbooks, and by doing assignments. Therefore, the film depicted how truly horrific the Holocaust was, as it ruined the lives of innocent individuals, due to a factor of their lives which they could not control; can not decide to be Jewish,
