In the novel, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, the protagonist Bruno goes through something that not your average child deals with. During World War II, eight-year-old Bruno and his family take on the adventure of leaving Berlin, so that Bruno’s father can take his new job in Poland, Germany. His father is offered a job in which he will become a commandant at Out-with, which is a concentration camp. Bruno is very uneasy about leaving his friends and family and also his house in Berlin.
