Next time others go through struggles, they should think of William Kamkwamba. He went through many, horrible things, such as bullying, famines, and deathly diseases. He shows a person that even if they are struggling, if they show perseverance, they will shine, just like William did. Because of William Kamkwamba’s determination to finish his windmill, he never gave up and finished it, becoming a celebrity in his village and the world. The text reads, “I went to sleep dreaming of Malawi, and all the things made possible when your dreams are powered by your heart.” (Kamkwamba 227) After building the windmill, and dreaming to change Malawi, he went to a gathering between hundreds of famous people in the world, talking about the changes they made. William’s dream had come to a reality after pushing through for many hours. Because of the fact that William had to survive during painful times, and never gave up on life or the windmill, even though he lived without food for weeks at times, the world is better today.
