The second tape is addressed to Alex Standall, who during their freshmen year, made a list saying that Hannah had the “best ass” in her freshman class. By being labeled with the “best ass” it leads to Hannah being assaulted numerous times. The third tape was addressed to Jessica Davis, a girl that was also new to the school. Jessica started to date Alex and then was later mad at him for choosing Hannah over her in the list which ended the friendship between Jessica and Hannah, and the ended relationship of Alex and Jessica.
William Street by Kenneth Slessor portrays a message about how underdeveloped communities or in this case streets that consist of drugs, alcohol, prostitutes and even worse things can be seen as something beautiful. Kenneth see’s all the issues and “ugliness” that others see as elements to what makes this street have character and charm. His vision and his understanding throughout this poem brings a message of how the places and maybe even people, are seen or portrayed as ugly can be seen as beautiful through another set of eyes. When something is natural then it isn’t caused by mankind it is actually caused by nature. Within the poem 300 goats we are viewing goats from the view of a normal human who doesn’t know goats or how they live, she doesn’t know how the goats survive, she doesn’t know goats. The person whose view the poem is written from is just a friend of the owner of goats who lives far from the ranch, and she simply has no idea how goats can survive on their own and she finds herself almost praying for the goats. The author doesn’t know what nature truly is and the ways that it can affect the living things that spend their whole lives in nature dealing with the problems as they come. This poem is about nature and how it affects living things other than human beings.

It has a dark/fearful/grim tone as she describes the storm that is accruing. The author is using similes, and personification to convey the theme. The “borderlands” is the division of a place, but in the eyes of Gloria she makes the character grow up in a place where there is a racial division. The character is in the middle of how of her race is important as her cultural ways get in the way of trying to practice each one of them.
