The prosecution is charging the defendant Alex palmer with first degree murder of Jes Markson. Critical aspects of four witness testimonies will be analyzed and discussed. Furthermore, the prosecution will explain the importance of each testimony and how the testimony helps link the Defendant Alex Palmer to the crime. The first witness Detective Dana Brown should state that she has been working for the Hollywood police department for eighteen years, seven of which have been as a detective. Disclosure of this information to the jury will help establish her credibility.
Before the sun had broken on June 6th, 1996 Darlie Routier (26) of Rowlett Texas was pleading with the dispatch operator for immediate help. In this almost 6 minute long call (in which the police get there in 3 minutes and about 45 seconds in) Mrs. Routier seems to be in complete shock, as she begs the operator to quickly send police. However, in between brief periods of hysterical breathing and unintelligible sobs she soberly remarks how she picked up the suspected murder weapon and this could have tainted any fingerprints that were there before. It was her attitude that landed her in the media’s glare, however it was the evidence in this case, all circumstantial, that landed her on Texas’s Death Row. In this paper I aim to highlight and elaborate
Ellis uses simple terms and straightforward organization of the main topics in the book for easy understanding and clarity. This source is very valuable because it has extensive research that includes reviewing hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles, interviewing many of the characters in the story, recording his own memories, including drawing a floor plan of Adams' office where the murder took place. This sources limitation comes down to Ellis profession. The book has gained recognition from the state of Florida as a valuable source; however, Ellis is not a professional historian. Because he created the book out of personal interest, his focus is different than a
Many people today get involved with the wrong people, as a result, many people are wrongly accused and incarcerated for crimes they didn’t commit. In the book MONSTER, there is a witness named Steve, who is on trial for the murder of a drugstore owner. Steve was the lookout in the robbery, however, he was not responsible for Mr. Nesbitt’s death. First of all, Steve was the lookout because he planned the robbery with James King.
With all the evidence gathered and told in such a way a person can understand them, Lebsock was trying to gain the attention of people who would like to go on an adventure on trying to find out the mystery murder. Truman Capote on In Cold Blood, uses a suspense tone and a warm tone. Capote narrates a negro’s assassination, that took place in Las Vegas during a summer, who Perry was responsible for. The trial later was taken care of during November around Thanksgiving, when the days are clear and pure. The detail arises the tone of suspense when Perry and Dick’s actions are not bright.
Progressing through the novel, the length of hypothesis’ given lengthens to account for an increased amount of background that the reader has accumulated, taking more factors into consideration. The active knowledge of the narrator’s game is proposed as “although this plethora of information may seem valuable, it will lead the reader only further into his own Lake of the Woods, a place where facts are useless and conjecture supplies only open-ended answers” (Radelich 572). Suggests that the more that is believed to be known, the more the reader is thrown into a spiral of information that is not particularly useful in the determination of guilt of John Wade. In the whirlwind of information where information flows as the narrator allows and possible explanations are forged, the ability of the narrator to sway the audience is optimized. Observed most clearly in the evidence sections, the narrator speaks directly to the audience about the evidence and what is to be made of it.

claiming that Kennedy was not the offender, Kennedy was arrested for the crime of rape. While the state had drawn both Kennedy’s backstory and L.H.’s personal experiences, they had came to the conclusion that Kennedy was the obvious offender. One of the reasons for this is due to the fact that Kennedy had made two phone calls, during the morning of the rape. 1 When L.H. had returned home on June 22, 1998, she told her mother for the first time that Kennedy had raped her. Therefore, confirming the previous suspicions of investigators and making the arrest of Kennedy more reliable.

Innocence is is a lack of guilt, with respect to any kind of crime, or wrongdoing. In a legal context, innocence refers to the lack of legal guilt of an individual, with respect to a crime. Being convicted of a crime and found not guilty later on can frustrate the convict and the convict’s family as the time spent behind bars, is time they will never get back. James Richardson was convicted and charged for murder and rape in Cross Lanes, West Virginia on May 18, 1989. First, Richardson noticed the neighbor’s house burning.
When hearing about the story of James Bulger—one cannot help but to feel heartbroken and upset, not just for James and his family, but also Robert Thompson and Jon Venables. On February 12th 1993, Thompson and Venables, both just ten years old, were playing hooky from school and had decided to spend the day at an area mall. While at the mall, they noticed two year old James shopping with his mother. When James’ mother went to pay for some items, Thompson and Venables abducted James, taking him on a two and a half mile walk where they later attacked him with paint, bricks, stones, and a 22 pound metal pipe, which was believed to have caused fractures to his skull. With his injuries so severe, this is likely what caused his death.
For the Application of the Criminal Justice System project of the Criminal Justice course, I chose the arrest of John Burke. This case is about the arrest and sentencing of John Burke who had shot and killed Joseph Ronan. Twenty-five year old John Burke agreed to meet with 22 year old Joseph Ronan at Ronans home, in Reading, Massachusetts on Monday, August 15, 2011 around 1pm, with the intent of purchasing Percocet pills. (Boston.com, 2013) However, shortly after entering Ronans home, Burke opened fire (News, 2011), and after shooting Joseph Ronan several times, with the belief that Ronan was involved in a robbery at Burkes apartment in April 2011 (Boston.com, 2013), fled the home.
