Racism is still a very prominent issue in America today. Yes, it has improved from the days of slavery, and we do have a black president; but society is nowhere near equal, and that is not acceptable. White Privilege by Paula Rothenberg truly opened my eyes to the extent of the social injustice on African Americans. Many people are implicitly racist, meaning that they are unaware of their racism. And in fact, just by being white, one is oppressing another race because the privilege and respect that comes with the skin color.
Racism is almost everywhere and has been around for years and we have just been chipping at it every second we can. The civil rights movement was a huge impact on the topic of racism and it is full of stories within it. Cases and trials of people who meant no trouble yet was judged by their skin. We know these people as black people, these people have been put through hardship during this time and are still being affected to this day. Brown V. Board of Education tell about how black children wanting the same education as white children.
December the 6th, 1865 marks the end of slavery and white supremacy. A glance at the 21st century America manifests otherwise. Racism is an ongoing issue that contributes largely to class boundaries within significant aspects such as economy, education and society of the United States, making people of color inferior to white people. The key components that construct a country into greatness are economy, education and society. The inequality and injustice present in these interlinked components, bound by social class hierarchy, can lead to desisting the full potential to be a globally respectable nation.
Racism in America has always been present. The foundation of America is based on the exploitation of black bodies. There was first slavery where black people weren’t seen as human beings but as goods meant to be exchanged and used for labor. Then, there were the Jim Crow laws where laws were instilled in order to separate black and white Americans. The letter “Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates shows that black bodies in America are as much in danger now than it was centuries before.
Nowadays society thinks that everyone is being equal by the way they treat each other. They think that racism is no longer around, and that people are getting better at it. Yes, Racism has improved, however, there are many different types of racism that are going on till this day. Also, there is a high amount of racism in the USA, that has been claimed to not exist anymore. There are many ways it is shown, however both ways are similar in each country.

Systemic Racism in the United States Many individuals today have different point of views on how the United States of America became what it is today. For instance, point of views such as how society learned to function the way it does, the law and order in place, and ultimately, how circumstances have developed throughout history. Unfortunately, institutional/institutionalized racism, also known as systemic racism is also a concept that has settled and is grown to be quite predominant in the United States all through times past. Systemic racism continues to take place in settings such as banks, courts of law, government organizations, school systems, and the like.
Racism is one of the most common issues in humanity. It haunts our past and can degrade our future. In spite of the Civil Rights movements in the 50s and 60s, racism is still prevalent in America today. The Civil Rights act of 1964 outlawed discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Unfortunately racism in America still exist.

Well to think that your fun family trip to the zoo is supporting the captivity of animals. Animals should not be kept in captivity because the animals will suffer from boredom and stress, the population of wild animals decrease, and we are teaching people that keeping these animals locked up for our entertainment is acceptable. Do you think of that when you go to the zoo?
In America, for things to work properly we need to have them in categories. Is a statement used quite often but, not to upon ethnicities. Living in America is a blessing however, it may seem like in order for this country to function we have to “group” people who look the same together. “You don 't fight racism with racism, the best way to fight racism is with solidarity.” Naturally, societies don’t tend to understand change, and it scares them. Similar people in majority have their own principles, and when someone different interferes, they simply try to push it out. These people think that the minorities are their inferior. This belief is known as racism.
