1.1 Background
Dropping out means leaving a school or group for practical reasons, with the system from which the individual in question leaves. Most commonly dropping out refers to a student quitting school before he or she graduates or avoiding entering a university or college. It cannot always be ascertained that a student has dropped out as he or she may stop attending terminating enrolment.
It is estimated 1.2 million students annually drop out of high school. Reasons are varied and may include: to find employment, avoiding bullying, poor grades, depression, unexpected pregnancy and lack of freedom. About 40% of the estimated 1.2 million of student drop out at high are the youth around my society. It is clear that school dropout is big problem in my society.
Most of the youth who dropped out from school, they are usually the trouble makers around our community. They increase all the socio-economic issues that our community is facing. Crime and poverty increases and this lead to an increase in unemployment and HIV/Aids in our community. Most of them end up using drugs and they become addicted in using illegal substances which is something not good for their health.
1.2 Problem statement
How can we help our youth from dropping out of school? And in what ways can we help them.
1.3 Hypothesis
Motivating our youth in such a way that they understand the importance of education and by providing free uniforms and food at lunch time.
