In The Book Thief, Max Vandenburg is an intricately woven character who possesses numerous dissimilar traits, predominantly, Max demonstrates resilience through his creativity, determination, and his anguish. Firstly, despite the many hardships Max faces, he channels his aggression and negative feelings in positive and creative ways.
