Many explanations have come forward over the years as to what the Chupacabra could be. Most people and scientists believe in the recent DNA testing that shows the found creatures are coyotes or dog suffering from a severe case of sarcoptic mange mites. Texas A&M will DNA test anything unusual found or trapped on farms in the area. All of the tests have come back with this same result. Is this what people are seeing, or is it a cover up of an unknown creature?
Benjamin Radford, an author of several books on the topics of paranormal phenomena and monsters, believes that what people are seeing is a figment of their imagination, based off of the 1995 science-fiction film “Species.” It is about a human-alien hybrid. Radford feels this is a huge part of the Chupacabra legend because the first ever eyewitness of the Chupacabra, Madelyne Tolentino, had seen the film just a few weeks before coming forward with her account. Radford says that other sightings in the area can be written off because of people viewing the film, and creating the creature from the film in their daily life.
