I am going to present the topic Human Rights. Human rights is for example the right to express your opinions, you have the right to education, you have the right to a private life and family life and you have the right to not be wrongly punished and mistreated by the state. Human right has been important for a long time and it still is. We have numerous people who have fought for human rights like Nelson Mandela in South Africa and Emmeline Pankhurst who’s a british feminist, however I am going to focus on The Civil Right movement and Martin Luther King Jr. The reason why we have equal right is to prevent people from being mistreated and hurt.

Back in 50s black and white people were separated, the had their own school, churches, benches and on the bus the black had to pay at the front go off the bus and go in through the back and sit there, while the white people would sit in the front. If the front were full the black people would be asked to give up their sit. One day Rosa Parks and 3 others were asked to give up their sit and Rosa refused she was sentenced with a fine, and she refused to pay that so she was sent to jail, her friends bailed her out. But I do think it’s a lot safer her than the USA. It’s not just white people who are racist there’s black people who are racist too.
I would say that famous human rights activists are idols because they fought and didn’t give up. Like Emmeline Pankhurst who fought for women’s rights, Martin Luther King Jr. who was the leader of the American civil rights movement and Malala who fought for women’s education and almost died for it. All of them have achieved something great and because of that they will be remembered for a long time if not forever. I think the most important thing to fight for are human rights. Because for example not everyone can get an education.
By being human, you have certain rights. If you take away all the structures of society, what would you have in yourself as a human being? The reason they have to be defined as “human rights” is to guarantee that certain things people are entitled to are not violated by a government or society.
I think we need idols in life. Why? Well to provide direction, to look up to for advice and support, to depend on for getting mentored, counseled or coached and to have a helping hand in hard moments of life. I think What the past can tell us about fighting for human rights is to never give up because in the end it will be worth it if we don’t give up no matter how hard It
