The argument that Robinson is clearly trying to make is that boycotting buses in Montgomery, Alabama came from the WPC (Women’s Political Council). Many black women, including Robinson, experienced and protested the various types of discrimination on city buses before Rosa Parks refused to give up her spot. While Rosa Park’s movement was just as important, it received more attention than her boycott with other black people. Robinson used her own experiences and her high position on the WPC to enforce a boycott that would help other blacks not go through the same ordeal in public transportation. The WPC was an important organization that stood for all black and wanted to be present to assist in any possible. “The wpc was formed for the purpose of inspiring Negroes to live above mediocrity, to elevate their thinking, to fight juvenile and adult delinquency, to register and vote, and in general to improve their status as a group. We were "woman power," organized to cope with any injustice, no matter what, against the darker sect” Robinson wanted to prove to everyone that with some hard work and regardless of the color of your skin you can achieve almost anything. While boycotting did not guarantee immediate integration on public transportation it was able to show everyone how many people were committed about the situation. Once WPC realized that so much more people wanted to join the boycott they had to increase their organization and expand to different parts of the city. “….as furious women realized that everybody had to become involved if black Americans were to win their fight, put the bus company out of business, and integrate those carriers or establish a transportation system of their own.” Being one of the head members of the WPC gave Robinson the push she needed to go even further in
