Many fairy tales are mostly based on love at first sight, but this one particular tale is different. The tale of the Classic Beauty and the Beast written by Andrew Lang is an example of how love at first sight is not portrayed in the story. This version of Beauty and the Beast is about Beauty, the protagonist, who is a loving and caring girl who struggles to take her responsibility as a mistress in a castle and is owned by Beast. The cause of her becoming the mistress of the beast is because of her request, which was for her father to bring back a rose to her when he returned from his journey. This small request of Beauty leads to many important events and will change her life forever. She struggles with marrying the Beast because of his appearance while she continues to dream of this unknown handsome prince that she wishes to fall head over heels for. Everytime Beast would ask if she would marry him, he would always get rejected. With this being said she would always look forward to dreaming about her handsome prince, “...and do not trust too much to your eyes.
