A world in which wealth is concentrated in the hands of just one person would be a world before the Communist Manifesto. Originally written in German, the Communist Manifesto brought awareness to issues that middle class and poor people were facing. The Communist Manifesto, a collection of theories about the tendencies of society and politics, philosophized that things that are perceptible to the senses should be more valued than those that are not. In January 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels published their thesis on the nature of humanity and government, triggering a chain of beliefs called Marxism. The goal of Marxism was liberation among classes and the equal distribution of wealth.

Marx and Engels brought a new set of ideas to the Soviet Union. Before, business owners kept their wealth to themselves. As Marx was pro communism, he insisted that wealth be shared equally.Marx and Engels demanded an end to private property, inherited wealth, and other issues in the Communist Manifesto (ushistory.org). Society was controlled mainly by the upper class at the time, but the Manifesto granted the proletariats(the middle class)an opportunity to develop a manufacturing class.
