“No two persons ever read the same book” (Edmund Wilson). The beauty of books lies in the ability of literature to present itself in a way that it can be perceived differently by individuals. While the greater meaning behind the book is ultimately delivered in the same way, the views and knowledge are absorbed differently by the reader. Where one reader may find answers to questions, another may find the opposite to be true. By this notion, pieces of literature challenge the mind to think critically, and by doing so, enriches the mind with knowledge and insight on topics one does not normally think about. In effect, it is the books that serve a pivotal role in determining the future of mankind, particularly “The Communist Manifesto” by Karl Marx, “The Undiscovered Self” by C.G Jung, and “1984” by George Orwell; these works of literature demonstrate a strong understanding of human values and lessons. …show more content…

The book itself criticized the concept of Capitalism and presented to people the possibility of self-governed “utopian” society in which the power of the state lies in the workers. Aside from its teachings of various forms of socialism, the manuscript promotes the power held by the collective people, in which as a whole, they possess the power and resources to reshape society. From a broader perspective, human beings need to be constantly reminded of their capabilities to make change when working collectively. With this, it reminds humans to not stand by and watch as society crumbles or walks down a stray path, instead they should be taking stand for their beliefs and inspiring change for the betterment of the
