The significance it had on the Continental army , is the many lives lost in the battle. When General British Burgoyne’s entire army is defeated it would be called The Battle of Saratoga.The British took the Forts named Ticonderoga, Edward, and Anthony. General Burgoyne’s army was defeated by the Americans. The British retreated from Fort St. Leger’s. The British are having severe losses in the battle with General Gates's army.
