In the play along with the movie The Crucible, John Proctor and Abigail Williams have interesting relationship bound by adultery and lies. Abigail becomes obsessed with John and will do anything to be with him. John quickly shuts down her fantasy ideas and tells her that what happened between them was a one-time thing that will never take place again and a mistake on his part. With this knowledge, she soon spends all her time plotting to get John all to herself and to make him fall in love with her, even if that means taking out John’s wife, Elizabeth. We see many examples of this forbidden relationship through their secret encounters and arguments in both examples of the story, still, there were more scenes of John and Abby alone in the movie than in the play.
The Crucible was based in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. The book starts off with Reverend Parris finding the girls in the woods dancing. Upon finding them Betty Reverend Parris’s daughter and some of the girls become ill. Abigail Reverend Parris’s niece tells him that when he found them in the wood Betty was so frightened when Parris found her she fainted and won’t wake. With Betty and the other girls unable to wake rumors of witchcraft start around the community.

The Crucible had many times where the Character's were conflicted on what they should actually do. One instance of this is Act 4 with John Proctor. John Proctor was a man that performed adultery, which sparked this whole case of events to spark. His wife from the very beginning is very conflicted in whether she should forgive her husband for the sin he has committed. When Elizabeth is ordered to court the rage within Mr.Proctor arose and he exclaimed many things thought to be shameful by the people of Salem.
As supported by psychology, it takes more than a single interaction for one to draw a conclusion on the true characteristic of another. For, if one only used that one moment to judge the characteristics of another, then he or she would most likely misjudge how that person truly is. Instead, it is crucial to use a multitude of instances with another to piece together their true intentions and moral values. Judge Danforth’s unwavering egotism culminates in the unfortunate deaths of Salem townsfolk. Arthur Miller’s classic play The Crucible demonstrates how the actions of one person can affect many others. Judge Danforth cares more about his own reputation than what is right. Often times people try to think of what is right instead of saving their own face, Judge Danforth is an exception to this stereotype. Towards the end, Hale changes from a person who carries his heavy written laws to a person who hates the court. During Act III, after Danforth arrested Proctor, Hale is so angry with the court that he yells, "I denounce these proceedings, I quit this court!” (Act 3, 120). The quote might seem really simple, but it is significant because Hale finally figures out that the court system is a failure to the society, and also figures out what he should be go after. Breeze desperately wants to solve this murder case and he will do anything to place the blame on someone. One night, Breeze and his partner, Spangler, decide to give Marlowe a visit. Although Marlowe does not invite them into his apartment, they come in anyways and start snooping around. They have no warrant and could get in a lot of trouble if they get caught. The atmosphere of this scene may be uncomfortable, but Marlowe finds a way to add a humorous tone to the situation by giving both on duty officers a drink.

“Character Analysis over The Crucible” Arthur Miller is a commonly-known playwright, most famous for his 1953 play, The Crucible. The basis for The Crucible came from the witch trials which occurred in Salem, Massachusetts during the puritan era. Miller even uses some of the same characters in his dramatized play that were a part of the original witch trials in Salem. However, Miller made a few alterations to the historical members of the Salem society in order to suit his dramatic purpose in The Crucible, particularly Abigail Williams, John Proctor, and Reverend Samuel Parris.

Willie told Jack and Adam that Hugh Miller wanted the one thing that he could not inherit: goodness. He then goes on to explain that humans cannot inherit goodness because they are inherently bad. I saw Pirate Kidd bury his treasure in the land of what is known, by the human species, as America. I saw him dig and run back to his boat. I saw him get captured and hung for crimes that are corrupt. I knew that the treasure needed to be looked after so I delightfully accepted to take the matter into my own hands, and to put that good money into some evil use. I love to see mankind fall, one person at a time.
