In the play The Crucible written by Arthur Miller that is based on a true story about the witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts around the time period of 1690’s displays the death of a tragic hero. The play begins with the town minister, Reverend Parris finding out that his niece, daughter, and house slave doing one of the forbidden acts of puritan lifestyle- dancing with one another. Since the town is strictly living in their Puritan belief system this creates a big problem in the town.
