Death. Massacre. Execution. Words to describe what happened in the “Holy” city of Jerusalem in 1099. The Crusaders with one and only plan... to kill/push out the Muslims from the Holy City. Christian knights from Europe seized Jerusalem from Muslims, causing a huge massacre and seizing of the Islamic group. On the night of June 7th, 1099, the Crusaders seized what rightfully belong to them as the Muslims had attacked Christians in Jerusalem, and since Pope Urban called for aid to those Eastern Christians in an act to grant their freedom and the seizing of the Holy Lands.
In the first place, Muslims were causing trouble to Christians in Jerusalem, the group targeted Christians by the beginning of the 11th century; a mistake by the Islamic group who had no justification for the persecution of the Franks. The Crusaders were heavily outnumbered by the Muslims in Jerusalem upon arrival, but outsmarted the Muslims as the Franks built three enormous siege towers. The Crusaders pushed against the walls of the Muslims after finishing the towers; by July, the Gate of Stephen was opened and the Crusaders seized the city. The Franks slaughtered men and some women/children, the executions can be a heavily argued subject as massacre should never be the answer for war. The Crusaders were on a mission though, to gain the city doing whatever it takes to get the land from the troubling Muslims. The Crusaders are justified for doing the most to get the city and the imprisoned Christians back; Muslims created a harsh and hellish environment for the Christian people as the Crusaders are justified correctly for the actions against the Muslims (excluding women and children of
