The book, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon is about a boy with Asperger’s named Christopher. He is investigating who killed his neighbor’s dog, Wellington. He finds out his dad lied about his mother dying and that she was alive. There were many different literary elements throughout the book. The topics covered in this paper are the Theme of the novel, the conflict, and a review of the novel using a psychoanalytic lens. One possible theme is the social struggles people with autism have. An example of this is Christopher’s struggle of not being able to talk to strangers. For example, when he is trying to figure out who he could go live he, he says he can’t live with Mrs. Alexander because she is a stranger
