“Trust is like a paper once it is crumpled, it can’t be perfect again.“ The Curious Incident of the dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon is about a boy named Christopher. He is gifted with a logical brain, but he has no understanding of human emotions. Therefore, he doesn’t really trust people. This essay will cover why Christopher has difficulty in trusting others. Would he eventually trust someone and at what times should a person trust or not trust a person. It is very important for people not to only put trust in others, but also to earn and maintain trust in others.

At times animals are the best to trust and talk to. Animals can be there for people with trust issues. If people experience extreme emotions (happiness, sadness, anger) then they should spend time with their pets because they are always trustworthy. Also, they do not spread the info around since they cannot speak. In the book, it explains “...[A dog] has four moods. Happy, sad, cross and concentrating. Also, dogs are faithful and they do not tell lies because they cannot talk.”(4) This explains that even Christopher agrees to the fact that dog cannot talk meaning there is a huge chance that he might trust a dog because he also loves dogs. People can trust their friends because they know what pressures them and what makes them happy, so basically they can cheer them up when they really need it. In the book, it states “...she laughed. This explains that people should always trust a friend because they would not do anything to hurt you and if they do they will try their best to fix it. People should not trust anyone when they are full of rage or full of sadness because chances are they would say something that they wanted to keep a secret and they would most likely regret it. Just...let me explain.”(86) There was a policeman at the door [I told the police] father killed Wellington, who is a dog.”(134) This explains that when Christopher 's father was full of sadness he randomly told Christopher that he killed the dog, but Christopher told the police and did not keep the secret.
