Imagine you are with your family, then all of a sudden you were taken away from them and the only way you get to see them again is to survive 23 other kids. In The Hunger Games written by Susan Collins. The capital puts on an event called The Hunger Games. In the game, you have been pulled away from your family and have to fight to the death against 23 other tributes. Two tributes come from each district. From district 12 Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mallark were picked. Well actually Prim, Katniss' little sister was picked, but Katniss volunteered to go into the games instead of prim. On the train ride to the capitol Katniss and Peeta go to their rooms to prepare themselves to be alone and try to win. At the beginning of the games the two of them split up until Peeta gets hurt badly, the Gamemakers announce that two tributes from the same district can win so they get back together and win the games. When Katniss shot the apple with an arrow, that was on the Gamemaker's table, to get their attention. When Rue died she covered Rue in flowers and braided her hair with flowers. In the end, Katniss and Peeta were going to end their lives together by eating Nightlock berries. So there would be no winner for this year's games.
