If you committed a crime and was sentenced to the death penalty what would your last meal to be? In the 18th century there were many ways that the government tried to keep peace but in one way was the death penalty . The death penalty was introduced by King Hammurabi in the 1772 BC and since then has been a key verdict in keeping the peace and sentencing those for their wrongdoings.

At these times the crimes committed were very serious offenses, Such as if someone was to accuse someone and get them banned and they had no proof that was in a way defamation of character and at this time the government felt that this was a serious offense that had to be taken care of. The death penalty law should not be eliminated today because It's the ultimate warning. If criminals who committed premeditated murder knew that they would receive the death penalty many of them wouldn't committed the crime in fear of dying. Also, it provides closure for victims. There are many victims of capital murder offenses (Ex: Boston Marathon ) Once the criminal gets caught, tried and convicted the victim's family feels better knowing that the punishment will be served. And that the person who killed no longer has a part to play in this crime and the victim's family can look forward to finding closure and moving on. The death penalty is a
