Student’s kindergarten to high school are required to wear school uniforms. One side of the argument argues that school uniforms are good, and that it improve academic success, student behavior, are perceived better, and also less quarrelling. The other side of the argument argues that school uniforms bad, and that it violates students’ rights, expensive for parents, school uniforms are not responsible for the improvements. Yes, indeed students must wear appropriate clothing to school, but school uniforms categorized students as the same. When students are categorized as the same it violates their freedom, and they are not able to express themselves as an individual, and be themselves. According to Tarshis “Some styles are unflattering to certain body types, which can add another challenge for kids already struggling with their self-image” (3). Students should be allowed to wear what they feel comfortable in to school as long as it is appropriate. According to Konheim-Kalkstein “Many religions dictate what a person should or should not wear. For example, certain religions require that the head or certain parts of the body, such as knees or elbows, must be covered. Such attire must be allowed, whatever uniform is chosen” (26). Not only can school uniforms violate student’s freedom to express themselves, but it can also violate religion rights for some students as well. School do not like how students come dressed for school, and that is why they have required students to wear school uniforms. What schools do not understand is that school uniform violates their rights of expression. If the students do express themselves when they are young, when will they
