In her diary, she concedes that she is inquisitive and talkative and comments about the other people who share the attic. In the play The Diary of Anne Frank, each character has a colorful personality, which causes a diversity in character traits amongst everyone. In particular, two very unique characters are Anne and Mr. Dussel. Throughout the course of the story, many different traits can be established for each of these two characters. Anne appears to be a cheerful and bold young girl while Mr. Dussel seems dull and quite selfish at certain points throughout the play. Anne is quite an extrovert, and she likes to be social with anyone that will hold a conversation with her.
Anne hopes that she lives on through her diary and everything that happened to her is remembered. Writing the diary is an act of remembrance. According to the text, “So, dear Diary, that means I must leave you behind. Good-bye for awhile. P.S. Please, please, Miep, or Mr. Kraler, or anyone else.
The Holocaust was a time in which millions of people were persecuted and mistreated: people banned together and stood up against prejudice and discrimination by actively and passively opposing the Germans. Citizens that actively resisted used violence and force to directly attacked the Nazis in attempt to save their life. Those that prefered, prepared to resist passively by not using physical brutality, but instead continued their daily lives out of the sight of the Nazis. In “The Diary of Anne Frank,” we see how Meip, a Dutch Citizen resisted the Germans passively, by hiding the Frank family and four other Jewish families in a secret annex above Anne’s father 's business premise during World War Two. They resisted without risking anybody’s life, yet still maintained their Jewish culture and beliefs.
This story is abut a girl that was writing her daily days while she was in the holocaust She was venting her fears and frustrations, and contemplating her everyday life. She was given the diary as a present from her parents in 1942, and named it Kitty. Through her diary writing, Anne Frank was in many ways her own counsellor in a time of great suffering and tribulation. She realized that writing down her thoughts and feelings could help her cope with the anxiety of the war and Nazi persecution.
On July 8th, 1942, however, she writes, “It seems like years since sunday morning. So much has happened its as if the world had suddenly turned upside down. But as you can see, kitty, im still alive, and that 's the main thing.” Although Anne talks about the negative conflict in her life often, she tops it with positive thoughts. She uses resilience as her strength.
