Is it really efficient to respond to conflict in violent ways, if in the end, it never makes a difference? The most efficient ways to respond to conflict are through a positive attitude, perseverance, and resilience. It is important to understand why problems occur, so they can be easily resolved. Being the ¨leader¨ of the situation, and ¨killing with kindness¨ are solutions that work in many conflicts. Many times, the problem between two people is fixed because of someone making a nice gesture, comment, etc. An example would be Bruno to Shmuel in Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Although this may mentally help to respond, it is important that you recover quickly. In the book, The Diary of Anne Frank, Anne writes in her diary daily. She talks to “kitty” about all of the tragic events going on in her life. On July 8th, 1942, however, she writes, “It seems like years since sunday morning. So much has happened its as if the world had suddenly turned upside down. But as you can see, kitty, im still alive, and that 's the main thing.” Although Anne talks about the negative conflict in her life often, she tops it with positive thoughts. She uses resilience as her strength. Despite this, many will argue that working out the problem until it is solved is the best solution. This method may be okay to use in some cases, but sometimes spending too much time dealing with one situation can be overwhelming. This may also lead to more problems, which is not necessary.
