The Differences Of Percy Jackson In The Lighting Thief

A demi-god can be defined as a person who is stronger than a mortal but weaker than a god. Percy Jackson is a good description of this title. Percy can be known as a demi-god because his dad is Poseidon, and his mom is a mortal. In the book the Lighting Thief Percy is accused of stealing Zeus’s master bolt which holds great power. After reading the novel and watching the movie I found that there are a lot of differences between the two. So, I decided that I would add some of these into a passage.

First, one of the differences that I found was the differences in the events. One event that is different is the fight scene at the end of the novel and the movie. In the novel Percy fought Ares for the lightning bolt, and in the movie, Percy fights Luke for the lightning bolt. Now, although Percy fights Luke in the book he doesn’t fight him over the bolt, Percy fights him because Luke claims that Percy betrayed him. Another difference between the movie and the book is that Percy decided to take a different path at the end of the novel and movie. In the novel, Percy decides to go home and go back to school. However, in the movie Percy decided to stay at Camp Half-Blood. I know this because on page 375 it says “I’ll be back next summer” he also says that he asked Argus to take him to pack his bags for home on page 374. One difference in the characters is Percy’s age. In the novel on page 1 Percy says “... I am twelve years old” and I know that in the movie Percy is at least sixteen because he is driving. Another difference in the character is that Grover is more outgoing. I know this because in the novel Grover just kind of stays behind Annebeth and Percy and he doesn’t talk much. However, in the movie Grover is always a leader and he’s always in front of Percy and Annebeth. Those are a few of the differences in the novel and
