It is important to this world because this genocide is caused by one of the most known people in America, Colombus, the founder of America. In conclusion, everyone in America should read about this genocide because of the person who caused it. The Taino people were living peacefully before this genocide happened.The background of the Tain genocide is they were very happy in there huge families living there everyday life until the Taino genocide kill at least 7 million people. (Britannica.com) The ethnic dynamics of the Tainos were that they were part of the Arawak civilization but lived amongst the Carribeans. The tainos were also big on their religion. They worshiped their gods and their chiefs, who overruled all the Taino people. (bc.gov) Before the Taino genocide, the Taino people were happily living with their people when the Spaniards and Christopher Columbus wanted gold, so they blew up the Haiti gold mines.
