The Eddi James song “ Freedom” gives a message about a person's rights no matter what they are. The phrase “ I wanna shout louder, yeah”, means that the person has been quiet and they want their freedom and right. This song was inspired by black hate . The speaker of the song Eddi wrote this to put out that even if you're not black , any other race , culture, religion, and gender are all equal. In the following line he repeats “ Freedom , Freedom , Freedom”(3.1-8)this is to remind the listener that the main topic is about a person's freedom. He shows this by using rhyme. Since most of the problem in this world is people’s rights , Eddi expressed it by how he wants something more than what he has. This was used in a good way and not a selfish way because we can tell he is being silenced. In the next line he sings “ I wanna clap a little louder than before I wanna sing a little louder than before (Ooh)” (3.9). This is a repeat of what he sang earlier because he wants to remind the reader of how he is being silenced. (freedom) (I love you Jesus)) “ (3.10-14). In verse ten of this stanza he changes the lyrics by saying how he wants to spin wilder than before and he also repeats how he wants to shout louder. This change occurs because in real life experience he faced racial discrimination. In verse 13 and 14 he thanks God for freedom and states his love for jesus. This change occurs because no matter what happens he will always be grateful and have lots of love.
